Post Doctoral Researchers

I encourage highly motivated PhDs with a passion for research on topics that overlap or compliment topics investigated by my lab to contact me, so that we can discuss opportunities.

Graduate Students

I encourage applications from highly motivated students with a passion for research on topics closely matching those investigated by my lab.  Positions are limited, so applicants are expected to provide evidence of academic achievement, technical training/research involvement, and a dedication to scientific inquiry and professional development.  Funding opportunities for new graduate students depend on availability of teaching and research assistantships and qualifications of the applicant for fellowships.  The most successful graduate students are those with a natural sense of curiosity and a strong desire to conduct research, publish findings, and obtain a position in a science-related profession.  If this is you, please contact me so that we can discuss current opportunities.  For more information about the department’s graduate program click here.

Undergraduate Students

I am always open to motivated students for who are interested in gaining research experience.  While, I prefer students with biological, chemical and computer science background, if you have an exciting idea related to topics covered by my lab group any background is okay. Experince has shown for a sucessful research experience, a commitment of 10-15 hrs a week for two semesters is necessary.

Science teaching majors and MAT Biology graduate students

Are invited to join the lab to learn and develop course material in oceanography, molecular biology and/or microbiology. NO previous laboratory experience is necessary. A fellowship has been developed for this program, for more information click here.
